Jan 22, 2019 · I do not know why but yes, erythiritol causes me to flush everything out and gives me bad bloating and gas. I am super sensitive to all the fake sweeteners. I had 4 tablespoons of a strawberry jam I made yesterday using erithritol. Diarrhea followed a few hours later, big time. This discussion is spot on.

Jan 18, 2021 · I wouldn't eat anything that triggers diarrhea. The basic message is that your body is experiencing distress. You could try a natural low carb/low calorie sweetener like allulose. It's actually a sugar, but we don't digest it. I think water and electrolytes. I ditch sweeteners entirely.

Aug 14, 2019 · Erythritol always, every time, causes me to have diarrhea. I prefer the liquid stevia, the powders usually taste bitter to me. I use sweet drops brand and in a pinch when I can't get to my specialty health food store Walmart carries a Splenda Zero liquid stevia drops that I like, it just has a preservative in it.

Nov 13, 2018 · YMMV, those are the most common problems reported with erythritol. It's a 1 on the GI scale (straight glucose is 100) so for every 100g used, I'd count 1 net carb. In other words, I wouldn't worry about ketosis unless you're using tons and tons of erythritol, and you'll probably experience pretty terrible gastrointestinal problems before then ...

Anything wrong with erythritol? To me, erythritol sounds too good to be true. It has fewer calories than any other sugar alcohol for the same sweetness. It doesn't cause diarrhea, unlike other sugar alcohols, as it does not ferment and only around 10% gets to the colon anyway . It is not mutagenic, and actually has antioxidant properties .

Sep 18, 2021 · Usually within a few hours though, not immediately thank goodness. The biggest culprit for me is maltitol (I can’t eat very much of it without major disasterpants issues!). Second is erythritol. Too much of that and the same thing happens. If I don’t happen to get diarrhea, then sugar alcohols always seem to give me the worst gas!!!
