Jun 19, 2018 · First - Elgato: Go to the Elgato Settings. In the "Capture" Tab put the quality all the way to "Best". This solved the crackling in Elgato itself without OBS. Second - OBS: The change above was just in Elgato but as soon as I started up OBS the crackling started again. Go to Settings - Audio.

In my experience for game capture, other brands do the same job better, even for basic needs like recording gameplay video or highlights. Elgato is a good entry point for basic needs, but far from reliable.

Mar 29, 2018 · Apparently I do not meet minimum specs according to elgato themselves, they said I am lucky to be able to work it at 720p. My processor is only 2nd gen i7 and they said its lower than a 4th gen i5, and then they also said my geforce 560m is lower than geforce 600, which all makes since. I cannot upgrade a laptop so I guess I am screwed.
