The ESSENTIAL Modern Dress Down Interactions Megathread
Dress Down will make Death's Shadow a 13/13 with no other abilities. NOTE: Any damage taken while as a 13/13 will linger once the Dress Down is sacrificed at end step, so if that damage amount equals to/exceeds (13 - Your Life Total), the Death's Shadow will die during end step (Thank you u/soupergiraffe for this added fact!).
Rules question about Dress Down : r/ModernMagic - Reddit
Jun 18, 2021 · Dress down only makes them lose all abilities, and its effect is timestamped. As it doesn't say "and they can't gain abilities" effects that would make them gain abilities (like instant gain flying or an aura) casted later would work normally. Temur battle rage works only if it was cast after dress down.
Dress Down and Evoke? : r/mtgrules - Reddit
Nov 5, 2021 · Wrong. 702.74a Evoke represents two abilities: a static ability that functions in any zone from which the card with evoke can be cast and a triggered ability that functions on the battlefield. “Evoke [cost]” means “You may cast this card by paying [cost] rather than paying its mana cost” and “When this perman

Oct 23, 2021 · [[Dress Down]] caught my attention lately, but I need some clarifications. Should be easy for you since the card has become a Modern staple lately :) Does it clear counters from creatures in play? What are some dress down interactions and use cases that
Since Dress Down essentially mutes all creatures, it'll wipe any abilities the card has once it enters. "As it enters" effects are just re-worded 'enter the battlefield' triggers that would affect the game State without using the stack but are still checked by static abilities.

The only text that would remain relevant are on cast effects like Bloodbraid Elf or Ulamog, since those happen while they are still spells and before they become ...

Jul 27, 2021 · With Dress Down on the stack, cast other spells off the top of the deck. Prowess resolves for each before Dress Down enters the battlefield. The +1/+1 effect for each such prowess trigger lingers until end of turn because it is a continuous effect, not an ability.
Dress Down : r/EDH - Reddit
Jun 6, 2023 · [[Dress Down]] is a card I’ve never seen being played in casual EDH. It was discussed among the members of mtggoldfish in their ‘secret tech’ episode, and they seemed to be fond of it. There was also great examples of it usage mentioned, like neutralizing a Craterhoof, a Dockside or killing Constructs .
Dress Down -- the card changing Modern : r/mtgcube - Reddit
Aug 9, 2021 · [[Dress Down]] is a card that's currently seeing lots of play in Grixis Death's Shadow. The interaction with [[Death's Shadow]] is neat, but only a small apart of the card's appeal. Mostly, Dress Down is a flexible answer to numerous problem creatures: Creatures with ETBs. This is the most important point from a cube perspective, imo.
