Aug 24, 2018 · I'm trying to install a brand new 225 flex shaft on my Dremel 3000 and when I insert the square shaft into the square nut, I then have to push fairly hard for the threads on the cover to engage. Once screwed down, the shaft is no longer where it belongs to operate as the shaft doesn't spin with the Dremel.

I use a Dremel 400 XPR, but only for lighter work. I use a Foredom for heavier work. As far as burrs go, the Dremel will accept Kutzall.

Jun 10, 2017 · Folks, I started carving with the Dremel and stepped up to the Mastercarver. I've used their grease ($10.95 for a small syringe of special lube for 3 shafts) and there's a great video from Foredom on how to grease the flexshaft.

Feb 23, 2007 · When I do lubricate, I clear off a spot on the work table, lay down some clean news paper to make a dust free work surface, remove the bit from the chuck, then unhook the shaft from the motor and pull the actual shaft out of the sleeve and lay it on the news paper. Dremel and Foredom both make a shaft lubricant so I use one of those.

Re: Decoy Carving - What tools do I need? Most decoy and bird carvers use power. So, look at a Foredom or Pfingst machines.

Jun 2, 2013 · That said, I started from scratch with flex shaft tools about siz months ago if you include the amount of time I used a Dremel. So compared to many of you, I am still a novice. Oct 28, 2021 · I had been power carving with a Dremel Flex shaft but it is making a lot of rattling noise. I bought the Foredom SR Flex shaft with the table top dial control. Along with it, I bought two hand pieces -- H.44T and H.30 C2. I am really happy with the Foredom. The level is much lower than the Dremel by 10 db based upon my phone measurements.
