Jan 19, 2022 · A couple questions (having not played out of the abyss): is knowing under dark languages part of your character already or something you want to add for utility? do you know how much you're going to be in the underdark? In any case, I'd probably go with undercommon. Most of the underdark races will speak it on top of a race specific dialect.

Mar 26, 2018 · I like to use real languages as inspiration for what the languages sound like, but don’t directly translate. Like, I’ll use the way Latin sounds to inspire how Draconic sounds, so the words “I love you” in Draconic might be “En tet ere” or something like that.

Mar 1, 2021 · Latin is such a well-structured language and many already use it as a substitute for celestial, and greek is a lovely language with a lot of melody so it would be perfect for aquan. But overall I think this is a cool concept! It is interesting to see other peoples interpretation of the real life equivalents to the DnD languages. Good job!

Nov 28, 2021 · It depends heavily on the setting, and which other languages are most commonly spoken. On generic terms, draconic is usually a good pick since ancient magic rituals, spells, or other ancient texts tend to be written in draconic runes.
