Seattle. Jun 27, 2020. #2. I have a 1975 Kent Ranger 24 which is 3100 lb displacement, about 1300 ballast and 4 foot draft. Had it for 7 years and like it. Got it in hopes that my family would enjoy sailing and we would eventually upgrade and go cruising. That hasn’t worked out, so re-assessing. I mostly day sail single handed.

The most active local dinghy fleets for weekend racing are Thistles and Interlakes. Lots of Thistles around, but no active weeknight racing.

Aug 10, 2022 · Boatyard and marina costs in the UK are astronomical, and houses with space outside for trailer boats are also pretty expensive, dinghy racing is a much more accessible sport for most people, most places have a couple of clubs within half an hours drive. Dalgety Bay or North Berwick both good dinghy clubs close to Edinburgh, for example.

Jan 14, 2024 · The 14' Crestliner would be marginal. It is 54" beam. The Candlefish 13 is a very similar boat to the Crestliner being somewhat beamier at 59" and a little shorter and with the same empty weight. Anyway we have towed the 14' Crestliner behind my Tartan 3800.
