Garden Burnet Root (di yu, 地榆), also known as Radix Sanguisorbae Officinalis, Bloodwort and Great Burnet, refers to the dried root of Sanguisorba Officinalis. A perennial herb found throughout Europe and China, this plant can reach a height of up to three feet, with upright stems and club-shaped clusters of flowers that are typically dark red.

Garden Burnet is a perennial herb, 30 to 120cm in height. The root is stout, mostly fusiform, and rarely cylindrical.
