Why are people getting Dark Mark tattoos? : r/harrypotter - Reddit
Dark mark tattoo owner here, and certainly against all forms of fascism IRL. I think there's a lot that goes on in someone's mind when getting a tattoo, and something that's meaningful to them. Some are really light and simole reasons (I like the look, it's a larger tattoo than just the deathly hallows) and others are more in depth like what ...

Jul 23, 2022 · More times than not, when someone shows off their Dark Mark tattoo around here, you get some dunce in the comments who wants to go off about nazis, and racism, and hatred, etc… which the symbol does share many similarities with, BUT, only in the context of the wizarding world. Here in reality, it’s completely harmless.

Nov 9, 2015 · The Dark Mark looks so badass, but when I first started searching around for ideas for my own future HP tattoo, I was really surprised how many people had chosen that particular symbol. Obviously I don't think the people who got it support racism/genocide, it's just a cool-looking symbol that other fans will immediately recognize, but it's not ...

Just 'cause the Dark Mark, Voldy, and the Deateaters are baes off of the Swastika, Hitler, and the Nazis respectively doesn't mean you're a nazi. Plus, Hitler and the Nazis stole the Swastika. It was originally a symbol of the revolving sun, infinity, or continuing creation.

Jan 23, 2023 · When you think about it, the Dark Mark is the closest thing to an in-universe tattoo anyone in the series had (or at least one that was so prevalent, if I happen to have misremembered). It really could be as simple as "This is something canon that I can lift directly from the story itself as something to represent the Harry Potter series."

Aug 21, 2016 · In the wizarding world, the Dark Mark is the equivalent to a swastika. After the Second Wizarding War, people with the mark would be known in society as a Death Eater and appropriately shunned. I think that the Dark Mark tattoo is a pretty cool looking tattoo. I …
