Jul 24, 2007 · The guy writing the manual specified that text should be created at .12 inches high in AutoCAD when creating a B-size drawing and at .14 inches high in AutoCad when creating D-size drawings. When we print the D-size drawing out on a B-size piece of paper, the text actually measures only about .07 inches tall. To me that seems kind of small.

Feb 9, 2017 · We use C-size and E-size drawing formats per ASME Y14.1. When we print, we scale them down to a B-size printer. When we plot, we usually scale the E-size to C-size and plot the C-size full scale. Some of the electrical guys do D-size formats in a different CAD system and they plot them full scale.

MintJulep: I have been thru the analysis of significant PART numbers and agree that insignificant PART numbers are the way to go for many reasons.

Jun 27, 2011 · Personally I find a large format single sheet drawing easier to work with, my practice is to try and draw at 1:1 (obviously very small parts have to be scaled up and large parts down) and pick sheet size accordingly to accommodate this going to larger sheet format rather than additional sheets when necessary.

Feb 11, 2011 · In UG NX 8.5.1.3 I have created a drawing with a view of .50 scale Using ordinate dimensions, they are coming out at half scale. Meaning that a 10.0 dimension is showing 5.0 If I use a regular Inferred Dimension, it shows the proper dimension. The dimension text, arrow size and all that are the correct size, just the dimension is wrong.
