Cyrene was blinded during the incident on Monarchia and was picked up by their fleet. She became a highly valued confessor to the Word Bearers and became known as "the Blessed Lady". She got killed during the finale of The First Heretic when the Custodes attached to the fleet learned of Lorgar's heresy.

Feb 1, 2024 · Last we saw Cyrene/Kat Moriana was going inside the Imperial palace, carrying the seal of Rogal. That pretty much opens all doors for her save for the throneroom itself. Maybe she will eventually meet with the Chosen Moriana and figure out how to take her soul/knowledge/identity too? So both answers are technically correct.
