I use the same de-burring tool mentioned above and I've never had any problems. The saw is well under powered but handles brass tubing just fine, won't come close to cutting wood at all though.

Set the aluminum angle on that cutoff corner and screw it down. I did drill holes for the screws and counter sunk them so the screw heads sat flush with the aluminum.

Actually, the safety instructions that came with my lathe say that if the blank is larger than 3", the corners must be cut off before turning. Running the abrasive into a bar of soap before cutting aluminum helps a bunch -- but the scroll saw is generally easier.

I wouldn't think of using my table saw for blanks with any blade that doesn't have at least 45-50 teeth on it (for a 10 inch blade), and more wouldn't hurt, like a 100 tooth plywood blade. Just as they cut the plywood smoother with less tearing, the same is going to apply to brittle acrylic.

Chop saw blades have a negative rake to them and that is because they will climb when cut if you use a straight tablesaw blade in them. You get away with tablesaw blades in sliding miter saws.
