I am trying to make a .cur file so I can make a custom cursor image but I can't find a way to change to files directly or when I download them. I made a new folder for the files and I looked in there for them and found them but when I selected them nothing happened. I even put the files in the cursor images files directly.

Jul 30, 2015 · Make a new folder for your custom cursor set, and drop it in. This should not be compressed in any way, i.e. it should be just a regular folder with the .cur files in it, not a .zip or .rar. You should have at least the basics, like the resting cursor, hovering over a link cursor, etc etc, not every single arrow is required to make it work.

Mar 20, 2010 · You could try saving them as part of a themepack, but I don't believe the themes compress and store cursors internally the way they do with wallpapers. Unfortunately the only way I know to do what you want is to export out of the registry, but that would only work if the new computer had the cursor files stored in the exact same path.

These are the ones that use the hourglass when loading or busy and have the longer 'stalk' on the pointer. I can't even find the files for the style anymore in the folder where all the styles are saved.
