Dec 15, 2009 · The recipe I have always used just calls for plain Crisco. I wouldn't use butter because I want to say that it changes the texture of the cookie. If you really want the butter flavor I'd use regular crisco with some butter extract. We have made these cookies for years and years with the regular crisco and they are totally yummy.

Per the conversion chart I found, there are 16 tablespoons to a cup. 227 divided by 16 = 14.1875 cups in this container. 14.1875 divided by 6 lbs = 2.3645 cups per lb. So roughly.... 2-1/3 cups per lb.
