Disconnect the battery, cable from the throttle cam, intake hose, fuel line, starter/gen wires and unhook the sensor on the side. Disconnect the brake cables at the back, then unbolt the spring ends and shocks, and roll the whole engine and axle out from under the cart in one chunk.

Oct 13, 2013 · Just noticed that the crankcase gasket on my newly purchased 1999 Gas Club Car DS with the FE 290 engine is leaking. When it warms up I can see oil blowing out of the upper crankcase gasket area. Any advice on removal and replacement? I have read some of the threads on clutch removal and will make sure that I have the proper removal tool.

Is there a specific aftermarket brand to look for? i am seeing OEM part # 1016446 "Gasket - Crankcase Cover" I have also read I should replace the seal behind the drive clutch. I think that this is "1016567 - SEAL- CRANK SHAFT"

Sep 26, 2009 · These engines will have a slight pressure and vacuum cycle that occurs in the crankcase when running that is normal. That's what also pulses the fuel pump. The leak above oil level is from the oil splash while running. When you get it apart you might even notice that the gasket is drawn inward, not "blown" out. Here's the fix:

Mar 16, 2016 · I, personally would use gasket sealer on both sides of the gasket! and I wouldn't worry about replacing the crank seal, if it's not leaking, you should be good! My snubber bracket is 3" long, with the mounting holes drilled at 2" center to center (top to bottom)

Mar 14, 2025 · I have to replace the crankcase gasket on my fe290. My work uses golf carts with the fe350 and we have a lot of spare parts. Will the fe350 gasket fit the fe290? I know they’re cheap but I just wanna get it finished. I already had the engine pulled and don’t wanna wait on a new gasket to come in the mail. Thanks

Aug 12, 2014 · Crankcase gasket? When I was installing the billet rod and cam in my VC440 I had to remove the side cover several times because of clearance issues. In the process it appears that the side cover gasket was damaged, since a piece of it was sticking out maybe 1/4".

Oct 31, 2024 · It had an oil leak at crankcase gasket. When I took it off i noticed it was covering the pvc area in circled pics. Is that normal or am I using the wrong gasket? Other question is the carb I’m using is OEM cleaned and put on my cart. What is the tiny hole in the flange also circled. The crankcase has tiny grooves behind the gasket. Thanks!!
