I've been learning to use clonidine more in my practice for a range of issues, eg. PTSD nightmares, irritability, hypervigilence, anxiety, etc. However I'm not finding much in a literature review in how to dose the medication for various purposes. Clonidine in effect improves the neurotransmission of noradrenaline, which helps to improve ADHD symptoms. It does this indirectly through the adrenergic receptors, which is what gives it anti-hypertensive effects and assistance with sleep etc.
