Apr 16, 2010 · Al Covin 's book CHEVY BY THE NUMBERS notes/verifies this oddity of the 881 & 882 Castings being excactly the same late in the 1974 year . Just sold an extra set of the good 2.02 /882 cast heads . Many times the nicer HP 882 heads can be picked up cheap as people don't realize which version they have.

Retrofit hydro roller cam in the 220/ [email protected] range 500ish lift, RPM airgap intake, 1-5/8" headers, 600-650cfm carb, good quality HEI with a decent curve 30-32 degrees total timing.

Dec 7, 2006 · I had a set rebuilt then after rebuilding them i went with the vortec heads. better flow, better chambers, after modifying the springs you can run a higher lift cam. and they are cheap compare to other aftermarket heads. but the cost of the new vortec style intake could bust the budget, and the the rocker arms need to self aligning style ...
