Dec 10, 2007 · It is "Made with Premium Portuguese Flannel" with a "remarkable resemblance to high-grade chamois leather." It's a 7.5 oz fabric. On the next page is the "Scotch Plaid Flannel Shirt," which is made from "high-quality Portuguese cotton." Weight of the fabric is not given, although it looks lighter than the chamois shirt.

Jan 8, 2015 · The Bean chamois has always been a sportman's shirt, and a spread or straight collar is (trad)itional on such a shirt, just as it is on a poplin safari shirt. Not every shirt from the Ivy zenith of the 1950's and early 60's had a button-down collar. Oxford cloth shirts, yes--outdoorsmen's shirts, not so much.

Oct 24, 2015 · the shirt is amazing. I was advised prior to ordering the shirt to order a size down (because the shirt was a bit larger) so I ordered a small. The fit is great- slightly bulky (so I wear it as a light jacket), with ample sleeve length (which was my primary concern with ordering a small). All in all, probably my favorite fall/winter shirt.

May 7, 2010 · The shirt doesn't really shrink much, so that's good. However, I will tell you that this shirt is quite huge, so possibly get a size smaller than you usually do. "It is better to look good than to feel good."

Mar 13, 2015 · Just checked, my chamois shirt is from El Salvador. Fwiw, I also noticed that all my regular flannel shirts from LLB are El Salvador as well. ive only worn and washed mine once, so I don't have a long term perspective, but I haven't noticed any quality issues

Jun 2, 2010 · I have 4-5 of the old Made in USA ones and none have bd collars. The older Woolrich chamois cloth shirts, however, do have bd collars. I'd say you should skip adding buttons. The chamois cloth shirt is a rough-and-tumble fellow and should just be enjoyed for his inherent qualities.
