It's good chain, especially for the price. - It comes with a Husqvarna x cut like tooth profile and is very sharp and aggressive out of the box. - Has the same type of first time using stretch like all chains.

Stihl is making and has always made their own chain (currently made in Switzerland). Carlton was a spin-off of Oregon long ago. Oregon's parent company, Blount, has since bought them out (in 2008).

For the experts, what do the different angles do?
WEBMay 25, 2017 · As noted, some sets of angles will cut faster, but dull faster (racing chains versus fire wood chains). Some angles will cut better in different species of wood (soft wood versus hard wood). Even the power of the saw is a factor: a higher powered saw may be able to pull an aggressively filed chain in a way that a more modest powered saw can not.
Alternative fixes for chain brake stalling engine?
WEBUSA. Jul 9, 2021. #1. The chain brake is stalling the engine, with it off the chain does not spin and the saw idles normally. The clutch, drum, and needle bearing are new. It looks like the crank shaft is worn enough to let the drum twist/angle with the brake applied. Most of the searches I've found say to replace the crank/buy a new saw.

WEBMay 7, 2016 · The 16" part is practically meaningless. Any bar between 15 and 17 inches (front of powerhead to tip of bar) will be called " 16-inches ". That's why we count drive links. I had 2 STIHL saws, that used the exact same chain (0.325 pitch, 0.063 gauge), that each had a '16-inch' STIHL brand OEM bar, that used totally different drive link counts.
