Aug 28, 2024 · The traditional purpose of a wrap is to change the color where PPF is meant for protection. These days you can now get PPF that also changes color. PPF vs ceramic coating is not a good comparison. Ceramic coating does not protect the paint from anything but swirl marks. Ceramic main purpose is to make the car slick so it is easier to wash.

Jan 3, 2017 · I have a complete color change wrap and paid a lot of money to have a ceramic coating applied. Unfortunately a lot of the wrap was removed less than six months due to poor quality installation. I am having those sections re-wrapped as I type. Supposed to pick it up later today. I will definitely use AP to re-ceramic coat my wrap.

Nov 11, 2020 · My wrap guy quoted me $2,800 to do a PPF full front & rocker panels, and full ceramic coating with color correction. Seems like a fair price (this also includes the front two windows getting tinted). It also would be roughly the same for me to do a full vinyl wrap.

In the end we liked the black with the white interior and decided to keep it, but went with full paint protection film (PPF) and ceramic coating on that. Like a lot of Teslas the original paint was quite bad and also quite thin so we wanted some peace of mind.
