There aren't many JDM cars with that HP range that you can buy for less than 5k, especially if you're in the US. You could get lower level Toyota X100s for less than 10k, for now. Pretty much nothing JDM is a good first car unless it has an equivalent that's local to you.

Coolant change, oil change, transmission fluid change, silicone wiper blades, ceramic brake pads and rotors, 5.1dot brake fluid, and power steering fluid.

1980s Mercedes sedans are very unique and cool looking, most come in under 5k in good condition. They’re reliable and very luxurious and comfortable. They aren’t sporty fast cars but they are definitely fun to drive.

Specifically the Camry, Corolla, Civic, and Fit have great reputations as reliable and efficient cars. Aug 2, 2022 · Honda Civic is the best combination of reliable/economical/powerful you'll manage at under £5k, the 1.8 petrol and 2.2 diesel are both great cars, simple enough that not much can go wrong and will outrun everything else in their class.

Apr 11, 2024 · Now days the most crappy car is 4-5k . Get the best most inspected car you can get for 8k . I would look into accords, Honda fit, civics , rav4, is250 or maybe rx350 . I feel I got lucky last month when I bought a well maintained 2010 rx350 for 8k. Didn’t want to spend that much but there is a big gap between 5k cars and 8k

Feb 3, 2019 · My recommendation is a 2010+ Mazda 3 or Mazda 2, 2012+ Hyundai Accent, any Toyota Yaris (typically cheaper used than a Corolla), and potentially go for an older Toyota/Honda (you can definitely find a perfectly fine Civic for $5k, but be aware that 06-09 models had a recall on engine blocks that could fail early, and Corollas are generally awesome).

Hondas and Toyotas for $5k will be pushing 200k miles but I would take one of those over a Spark with 80k miles. GM 3.8L V6 models are solid Non-turbo Mazda models Rebadged Japanese cars like a gen 1 or 2 fusion/milan.. Pontiac Vibe..

LS1 cars can still be competitive now a days but under 5k it’ll be high mileage and will need a little bit of love. But, it will repay you with great straight line speed and with mods they can handle pretty good for what they are.
