    • May cause dizziness
    • This drug may impair the ability to operate a vehicle, vessel (e.g., boat), or machinery. Use care until you become familiar with its effects.
    • It is very important that you take or use this exactly as directed. Do not skip doses or discontinue unless directed by your doctor.
    • For capsule, extended release 12 hr products : Do not chew or crush before swallowing.
    • For capsule, extended release 12 hr products : Herbal/dietary supplement products may interact with this medication. Discuss any such product with your doctor or pharmacist before taking.
    • For capsule, extended release 24hr products : May sprinkle capsule contents on unheated applesauce. Swallow mixture immediately without chewing.
    • For capsule, extended-release 24hr degradable products : Swallow whole. Do not chew or crush.
    • For capsule, extended-release 24hr degradable products : Take on an empty stomach

    • Peripheral edema
    • Headache disorder
    • Fatigue
    • Orthostatic hypotension
    • Atrioventricular block
    • Bradycardia
    • Constipation
    • Edema
    • Dizziness
    • General weakness
    • Skin rash
    • Insomnia
    • Nausea
    • Diarrhea
    • Dyspepsia
    • Flushing

    If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly

    Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including

    • Fainting
    • New or worsening symptoms of heart failure
    • Slow/irregular/pounding/fast heartbeat

    • Severe stomach/abdominal pain
    • Dark urine
    • Persistent nausea/vomiting
    • Yellowing eyes/skin

    A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including

    • Rash
    • Itching/swelling
    • Severe dizziness
    • Trouble breathing

    Other things to note

    • To lower the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.

    • Swallow capsules whole.
    • Be careful not to stand up too quickly
    • For capsule, extended release 12 hr products : Do not chew or crush. Caution. Take doses regularly, even when feeling well. Tell doctor your complete medical history. It is important to check blood pressure regularly. Skip missed dose if almost time for next dose.
    • For capsule, extended release 24hr products : May open capsule. Mix into cool applesauce & swallow.
    • For capsule, extended-release 24hr degradable products : Swallow whole on an empty stomach before a meal.
    • For tablet products : Take before meals. Take at the same time(s) daily as directed. Do not use to stop angina attack. Use regularly. Tell Dr/dentist on drug prior to any surgery. Check warnings on OTC medications.
    • For tablet, extended release 24 hr products : If available, read the patient package insert. Do not chew or crush. OK to split tablet if scored.
