With an unlimited money and weight budget, of course get the EOS R5. The EOS R6 saves you a lot of money with the same high frame rates as the EOS R5, and you may prefer the R6 's two SD card slots, higher ISOs, deeper shooting buffer, slightly lighter weight and slightly longer battery life compared to the R5.

In some ways, the Canon R5 and Canon R6 II are very similar cameras. The R5 and R6 were essentially the same camera, but with the R5 having a higher resolution. The R6 II is the updated version of the R6 with better autofocus and a few other minor performance improvements.

The Canon EOS R6 was much less expensive and would produce sufficient resolution, but the Canon EOS R5 offered a few more “bells and whistles” and its file sizes were closer to what I was used to working with.

The R5 is obviously an 8K powerhouse, which makes it unbeatable for video, but it also boasts a 45MP image sensor that’s spectacular for stills. The R6 is no slouch in either department, however, and actually boasts superior ISO performance and low-light autofocus.

The Canon EOS R5 is fantastic for covering weddings, landscapes, portraits, portraits, and more. The Canon EOS R6 narrows some of the features down to improve a few focusing more on high-speed action and even 4K cinematic video improvements.
