Established over 50 years ago Caldew has earned a well-deserved reputation as a school where students of all abilities excel. We cater for just over 1000 young people aged 11-18 years of whom 150 are in full time post 16 education in the school’s flourishing Sixth Form.

Caldew is an inclusive school with provision for the most able and for those with learning difficulties and disabilities. It contributes to the area facilities available for young people with more profound needs, specialising in the field of Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

Caldew has a thriving Sixth Form of 150 students, studying around 30 A Level and BTEC Level 3 Courses. We have high expectations of our students just as their expectations of Caldew School will be.
