Cal Poly Racing's Formula SAE vehicle is built around a lightweight and durable carbon fiber monocoque. Key features include a high-performance carbon fiber aerodynamic package, Multimatic mode-decoupled suspension, Emrax 208 motor, and high-density Tesla battery cells.

“Cal Poly Racing Baja has given me experience, connections, friends, and knowledge that I never would have imagined gaining this quickly. I joined the team with a passion for racing but little to no knowledge about engineering or what it takes to build these fascinating cars.

Cal Poly Racing has been able to utilize some of these funds for building new cars every year, maintaining old cars for testing purposes, and acquiring more testing sensors and equipment.

Cal Poly Racing’s Baja car is equipped with a semi-active suspension set-up where the shocks damping is controlled electronically by the driver and via a premade controls program for optimal performance for high-speed cornering and rock crawling.
