Slabs are cuts of wood with the same thickness throughout. After we cut them into slabs and other pieces, we make sure they are all dry and stabilized. This ensures they are ready for finish and won’t crack and warp when finished and acclimated to the final destination.

When you cut and process the eyed burl, you get pieces of sumptuous burl slabs. These have more dramatic and erratic grain flow making for more beautiful and haphazard patterns. It is largely free from mold, fungus, or bacterial infections. Even the rot content can be well within manageable levels.
