The colors should be muted, though, so the design remains natural. That doesn't mean that you're stuck with white and grays – in fact, a traditional bungalow interior should feature saturated wall colors, not just bland white and beige. Just avoid bold, artificial shades. Instead of bright, sunny yellow, opt for a subdued ochre shade.
