    The lightbulb sign is the name given to the appearance of the posteriorly dislocated humerus on AP radiograph. The radiograph looks almost normal as far as position of the humerus is concerned; however the investigator is alerted to the dislocation by the rounded, complete appearance of the humeral head, normally only seen in the lateral view.
