Feb 11, 2024 · The first and second sets of pickups in the guitar were both from top shelf boutique winders. I just sold the last set for $450 before buying the $50 Bootstraps. These pickups are amazing at any price, but the fact that I strongly prefer them to pickups that sell for 9 times their price shows just how insanely good of a deal they are.

Feb 6, 2019 · Just checking to see if anyone here has purchased from Bootstrap pickups and what your experience was like, and what the pickups sound like. A couple weeks ago, I stumbled onto their website and ended up pulling the trigger on one of their humbucker sized P90's (a "Skookum Clean 90" and a strat pickup (their "Oatmeal Stout"neck pickup).

Jul 24, 2022 · I only play Bootstrap pickups these days in my strat and 339. My strat is HSS with a Vintage Clean A4 bucker, and the Vintage Sparkle pickups in the middle and neck; A3 and very low output. While I believe the Vintage Sparkles are the best strat pickups I've ever heard with my own ears, I don't think it's the direction you want.

Feb 6, 2019 · Just wanted to chime in with my Bootstrap review. Reached out to customer service before placing my order and was recommended the Oatmeal Stout set. My criteria was “jazzmaster or p90-ish type tone that wasn’t thin and wimpy like a typical vintage Strat set.”

Feb 8, 2022 · I love Bootstrap pickups! My faves are the Oatmeal Stouts, but I’ve also used the golden ales, the lake surfers, the skookums, the Sun cities and…I forget the name of the other set. Anyways, their pickups are great and way under priced. I’ve got 2 more sets on the way I like them so much. Can’t wait to get my big cats!

Feb 28, 2023 · Most importantly for me, I feel like switching between neck and bridge pickups has enough of a sound/feel/aggressiveness that it makes me play differently depending on which I'm on. Not to mention, btw, that the middle position is now incredibly usable for me, since it's a nice balance of both tones. Huge shoutout to bootstrap for these pickups.

Feb 11, 2024 · Glad you like. I've got a Bootstrap Tele bridge pickup here that I've not installed yet. Looks well made though. I've got a Tele with a set of Bare Knuckle Flat '50 pickups. I'm curious to see how the Bootstrap compare.

Feb 6, 2019 · This guitar has Bootstrap alnico pole magnet P-90s in it, and I really like how clear they sound. The all-wood bridge and tailpiece have a sort of softening/damping effect on the attack, and the pickups help bring a little sparkle back.
