Jun 29, 2021 · Open the PAINT app, open the broken jpg image, in paint go to 'Save As' and change the image format to PNG or BMP etc. As long as it's a different format. There are software that claim to be able to repair the image on google but I wouldn't know which one to advise you or which one is really reliable and not a scam.

Jul 25, 2020 · Photos App open with blank / black screen. Just started recently and is sporadic. I have re-installed, still does it, and it is sporadic .. not clear if its associated w/ file size, type, or whatever. The app opens with a black screen (I have dark mode on). I have to close and reopen image then comes up. Files on are on desktop.

Dec 4, 2015 · When I open a jpg file Windows 10 displays a black screen. when I have the option to "Open with" and select "Microsoft Office Picture Viewer" jpg displays fine. But jpg attached to an email do not have an "Open with" option. All I can do is Open and they open black..

Mar 29, 2016 · .jpg attachments to received emails in the Mail App appear as blank squares and cannot be opened when I forward the email back to myself the same attachments appear and open as normal. When I right click on the blank square an option appears to save the image to file this I do and the picture appears in the saved folder.

Dec 25, 2017 · With my iPad, the thumbnails are blank with all "Live Photos" moving images, even though the thumbnails look fine on my iPhone for the same Live Photo. (All MOV videos on the iPad thumbnails are filled with a proper Poster Frame.) it appears to be a bug IF you did NOT "Select A Key Photo" for the Live Photo on the iPhone.

The photos app occasionally doesn't work at all. It shows a completely black or completely white screen after we open a picture.
