I changed my 8-bit (transparent background).png image file from indexed color to RGB color in Photoshop (CC) and dragged it from my desktop into an opened Adobe Illustrator (CC) .ai file. The transparent background remained after that procedure. Please show.

I first noticed the problem when I tried to place the transparency into Final Cut. As I've been saying, it showed black instead of transparent.

WEBJan 10, 2020 · Removing the background layer to save the files to .png worked fine so far. But then I needed some fireworks and downloaded a file that looked good to me, to do the same thing. But as I tried, a black background appeared behind the "glow" instead of a nice transparency (see in sceenshot).
