In winter waders often roost on the jet-ski ramp, including Purple Sandpipers. There are three main observation points - the lighthouse and beach are to the north of the town and the jet ski ramp at the south of the town.

The Hunstaton Cliffs are located on the northern side of Hunstanton and face the Wash bay area. The cliffs are coloured white and red and are famous for their fossils and, of course, the breeding colony of Northern Fulmar .
