Brunswick/Magnolia, while large, is a very poor tasting fig, it is large, a good producer, but insipid in taste, it was a favorite of the Texas Commercial Fig operation in past years because of the production/maintenance characteristics. Green Ischia Review. 10-17-2018, 02:00 PM. WOW! Just tried the seasons first fully ripe Green Ischia, outside appearance was a discolored soft green skin. Well worth the wait. Weather has been 90 to 92F for a few weeks with little rain. Amazing strawberry/berry flavor, not subtle in the least, jammy deep red interior with tiny crunchy seeds.

The roots were 3 inches diameter I cut. 2 years later a fig sprouted up at the original site which I am going to again move.I had a celeste fig I had to move this spring that was in ground 3 years.Now I see a small fig sprout coming up where it had been. so figs CAN sprout from roots.
