Apr 28, 2017 · I bought a very well used biax 7ELM power scraper. The part where the blades attach slides on 2 metal bars that are held to the body of the scraper with 4mm dowel pints. These bars, or sliding surfaces, are highly polished and are the main wear surfaces. I shudder to think what a replacement costs.

Here is what I wrote: 10 E is the 1980's light model scraper the same as the modern BL-10 accept it is one speed. 1200 spm. The blades of the old models fits the new models.

I think I figured out the roughing. I used a long and flexible blade with a wide nose and large radius and a 15mm stroke length. That got me roughed-in in short order.

Jan 13, 2020 · BTW, scraper blades for the Biax are easy to make. The factory blade shank is 4mm thick, mere thousandths from 5/32" Starrett stock. Saw out, fettle, and slot a dozen blanks, make up what you need and stash the rest. Silver braze carbide tips on them. DIY scraper blades cost about $8 apiece in materials.

Dec 21, 2024 · I'm looking to make a few blades and a hand scraping tool, and would like it if the blades I make would able to be mounted on a standard Biax scraper if I ever stumble into one of those. Alternatively I'd like to be able to mount standard biax blades on my handle. Can someone who has them, get me dimensions for the blades on the connection end?
