Sea Ark makes a great line of aluminum boats from simple jons, bass boats, commercial work boats, patrol boats for Coast Guard-type applications, and more. I have an Express 1872 all-welded and it's just very tough and durable.

Mar 29, 2015 · I would like to know what the forum members think are the best brands of used aluminum fishing boats. I am looking for a 16-7 foot boat with 25-90 hp outboard on it. Brands I have been interested in are Lund (just missed the only one I could probably ever be able to afford), Princecraft, Smokercraft, Starcraft, Misty River and Sea Nymph.

Jul 7, 2011 · Re: Best wax for painted aluminum? Wax might give you short term protection. Had a 14' polished Starcraft for 8 years. I go around it twice a season with a SOS pad. Something in the soap seems to slow down the oxidation. My pix are posted on the polished aluminum thread. It is outside 365 days a year, used in saltwater sometimes!

Oct 10, 2012 · For two, they WILL loosen in time from the vibration and normal working of an aluminum hull. My personal preference came from several years as warranty manager at an aluminum boat manufacturer. During that time I had several repair boats that had sheared off some rivets from running aground or hitting something.

I keep my boats in a boat house and try to bring them up to the shop as little as possible. For quick repairs I use gutter seal. Holds pretty good and suprisingly is sort of gas resistant

One would think that metal would transmit/receive sound better than glass.<br /><br />Don't know what's in the new ones; maybe just a marketing ploy, or maybe something to them.

Oct 7, 2010 · Re: floor Materials for Aluminum boat Do not use PT anywhere near an aluminum boat. Corrosion will occur. I used exterior grade sealed with epoxy resin for my deck. Marine grade is a superior product but costs a lot more. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I will chime in about MDO and HDO.

However, stainless steel is the best choice to use to fasten to your aluminum hull. Use the 5200 on any through bolts in the transom and screws and you should be fine.
