May 6, 2021 · It depends on how much you like beer, but I know lots of people that don't even consider it a beer. I wouldn't ever buy one but I wouldn't say no to one at a grill party or something. But I do think it's kinda funny if people want a beer and buy a becks .. that just might be my arrogant Bavarian ass tho.

I've tried a few different beers, mostly beer widely available in the UK such as Beck's, Carlsberg, Fosters, Carling, Newcastle Brown Ale, John Smith's, Stella Artois, Budweiser, Coors etc etc. The only two I've found that I enjoy are Beck's and Carling. I seem to only like beer that's very gassy, light and also bitter/tannic.

For example Becks beer tastes more like a bit better version of PBR compared to what was imported for decades. And I haven't been able to find Spaten Lager anywhere. It's disappointing for a lover of beer brewed from vats that are centuries old and fresh mountain water, instead I'm being subjected to Mississippi or Missouri river water.

Peroni is a solid choice. I would say most Czech/Bohemian lagers would be worth trying. Depends what you like most about the beer but it does have that green bottle Mercaptans taste so check out other green bottle beers too if that’s what you like about it. It’s on the lesser side of green bottle skunk than say Rolling Rock or Heineken.

Jun 2, 2024 · Well its now part of Anheuser-Busch InBev and was originally made for the international market after the war. Its a bland "Everybody" beer with a huge marketing budget. Heineken is in a similar spot for me. Just larger than Becks and dutch.
