That's all it took to activate the new fob. In fact, the Nav screen immediately popped up with a request to name the profile associated with the new key fob.

Dec 6, 2020 · My wife's key fob on our 2017 X1 F48 stopped working, all the symptoms of a dead battery. However I've changed the battery and it's still not working. We can still access / start the car with her key using the old school key to get in the door, and pressing the fob against the steering column to start, but the key fob isn't syncing with the car.

This forum and a Google search has yet to provide a straight forward answer. I'm a DIYer, have a great mechanic and avoid dealerships like the plague. Thanks in advance to all for any suggestions.

Oct 10, 2015 · The battery in my'07 328xi key fob has died, the little notch for gaining access to the battery location is non-existent. I do have the comfort feature. Is it possible that the key fob for the first build of this model (12/2006) did not have this access?

Dec 6, 2015 · The key fob was sent to the dealer with the mechanical key already cut. I do not know if the electronic fob was totally virgin or if it could only be mated to my specific BMW. Jan 1, 2023 · since the parts for E39 changed from main catalog to classic catalog, I thought there might be changes to how BMW process new key orders. whether or not BMW keeps records of key pattern or immobilizer inforamtion. I do not want to spend $200 for a blank key. hence, I'm asking people to share their experiences.
