Oct 10, 2011 · I've burned an Ashley wood stove for over 30 years. I thought it was time for a new one so I bought one and had it delivered. This is a model BEC95. I paid almost $1000 for it. I uncrated the stove, examined it and found, what I thought to be, a part missing. That part being the sliding plate to control the draft through the ash clean-out door.

Nov 22, 2015 · 1st:Get rid of the grate,it doesen't belong in there!2nd: leave the fire brick in the top of the stove! Some of the draft air goes in at the front base of the fire.The rest goes to the top of the fire box through ducts in the wall of the stove and comes out at the top of the box,probably just below the upper fire brick.The upper air is what burns off the bad stuff before it goes up …

They need to be regulated and fed by hand usually every 12 to 24 hours depending on your usage. They require no power to operate making them ideal for rural settings with long power outages.

Dec 21, 2011 · Flue gas temps and hot air duct temps are two different things. A fan and limit switch does 2 things.It cycles a blower and it has a high limit for over heat.

Jan 3, 2017 · If your wood is green, you might have to keep the air more open to get the green wood to burn. The wood will burn faster doing things this way and you will get less heat. Doesnt sound right but it takes a lot of heat to dry that green wood before it will burn, and most of your heat escapes up the flue in the form of steam.

Oct 10, 2012 · Were putting in a Ashley, model# CAHF freestanding stove. and the inspector is putting up a fuss about no Manual to get the specs from. The stove has been refinished also new bricks gaskets. I seen the Ashley #cahf-2 manual posted in another forum but that is a insert.
