Antelope Island. Antelope Island, on the south end of Great Salt Lake, is the largest island in the lake. It is a 28,240 acre refuge for huge amounts of wildlife. The island is approximately 15 miles long and 5 miles wide. The size of the island depends on the level of the lake; at low levels, the island becomes a peninsula.

In Spring 2017, Antelope Island State Park was designated an International Dark Sky Park (Bronze Tier) by the International Dark Sky Association (IDA). Antelope Island is one of a growing number of International Dark Sky Parks in Utah.
