Back then, Adobe Reader was exhibiting slowness and freezing when launching PDFs from one of the financial application that gets used across the enterprise. However, it seems that we never applied this same policy for Acrobat Pro.

Nov 8, 2024 · When I would open any pdf doc (with rare, occasional exceptions) Acrobat Reader would be unresponsive for a minute or so, and then work perfectly. I tried re-installing, repair installation, duck-duck-go'ing for answers, but nothing helped.

Oct 31, 2018 · It just takes up space for the 99% of Acrobat users who only want to view/print PDF's, not do anything else with them. It should be "off" by default when the software is first installed, but that's a separate discussion. And Adobe could do a much better job of explaining how to hide it (like a checkbox on the pane itself).
