ATSF 2921: caption this... Santa Fe 4-8-4 2921 has spent the last 52 years on display in Modesto, CA's Beard Brook Park. The park is an out-of-the-way, easily overlooked place subject to periodic floods from nearby "Dry" Creek. The engine has had its boiler jacket and asbestos removed, along with its bell, lettering, and dignity.

This morning it is still aboard the super heavy duty moving rig, awaiting placement onto a short section of track on the south side of the depot.

The move date is currently in limbo. A crew is working at the Amtrak station today, making final preparations for the arrival and unloading of the #2921.
