Feb 23, 2011 · Worst case scenario I just end up returning the pair. So I’ve been using the Y500 for about an hour or two, and I'm pretty satisfied so far. Sounds rather balanced with more of an enjoyable/fun sound profiles instead of being accurate. Sound about what I would expect from something in the $150 price range.

Oct 5, 2021 · it would be a nice battle between KRK KNS 6400/8400, AKG K361/K371, Audio-Technica M40X/M50X and Shure SRH-440/840 since they are all highly sensitive, with low impedance (only shure has more 44 ohm imp.) and cheap! ($100-$150).

Apr 22, 2008 · This is an energetic pair but without the Fatigue - built for long listening sessions. As for the Penon house sound, excellent sub-bass rumble & texture, fluid, rich bodied mids, and for the trebles, we are being teased how a premium top end should sound. Staging is large for the money and out of head, too.

But it is interesting that he used the phrase "original model K250" to describe the Pro 50, implying that the K250 had more than one iteration, similar to the way that the K240 Sextett Cardan eventually evolved into the later, easier to manufacture versions without the passive diaphragms.

Aug 29, 2011 · The AKG K550 does that and much more. After a few days of pink noise break in and heavy music listening, they really showed their true high-performance colors. The highs were balanced and resolving, the mids forward as in any AKG headphone, and the lows are rich and placed perfectly within the frequency spectrum.

Actually I like the K3003i better but the cable is a nightmare and the shells are a bit heavy. The N5005 sounds to dark for me even with the treble boost filter. Different ears, I guess...
