15W-40 diesel motor oil for lawn mower | BobIsTheOilGuy
Mar 20, 2014 · I have been running 15w40 in my briggs powered generator and Kohler powered rider for two years now, and nothing has blown up yet. I am running 30w HDEO in my pusher, with the intent to transition everything to 15w-40 eventually. One lube for all OPE and one lube for my fords (Mobil 5000 5w-20). The wife is stuck with Rotella T5 10w30 in her ...

Jul 19, 2006 · But the fleets still buy the semi-synthetic 15w40 because they do't trust the thinner oils not because they cost more. For the fleets that can afford full synthetic a 5w30 big rig diesel and gas oil is as close to 5w20 as a heavy duty diesel oil …

Jul 5, 2020 · Most of what’s coming up on the google suggests Kirkland oil is made by warren petroleum. Same company that makes Walmart super tech oil. Can’t find specifically the diesel oil but I recall a project farm vid a while back about diesel oils and the Walmart stuff was barely beaten by amsoil at like six times the cost.

What is the better synthetic diesel oil? | BobIsTheOilGuy
Nov 8, 2018 · If you’re running 10% or more (up to B20) - I would really watch any oil analysis and set your drain intervals accordingly. Both 15w40’s and 5w40’s - assuming all are full synthetics - will provide approximately equal protection. While DNewton did point out the VII aspect, 15w40’s resist fuel dilution significantly better than 5w40s as ...

Nov 2, 2015 · Hello all, Got a 2014 ford F550 6.7 powerstroke. Been running 5w-40 synthetic (Valvoline and DELVAC). The Ford manual says for severe service run 5w-40. I wanted to get some opinions on 5w-40 vs. 15w-40? Keep in mind I am not looking to extend drain intervals...been changing every 5,000-6,000...
Why use 15/40 engine oil in a diesel. | BobIsTheOilGuy
Jun 9, 2012 · With my last diesel car, a W123 240D, which required, IIRC, only an API CF oil, I used 10W-40 winter and 15W-40 summer. I'd likely use a 15W-40 summer and a 5W-40 winter now, based upon current oil availability as well as ease of starting. For all year use, a 5W-40 would be very good for any diesel car, just a little pricier than a 15W-40.

May 16, 2008 · Being you're in S.C., you could easily get by with a straight 30 diesel oil. Barring that idea, you can find darn good prices on a Xw40 diesel oil in the brand of your choice that will work just fine. 5w40 will work just as well as 15w40. Contrary to popular opinion, they only differ in winter flow rating. They are both 40 weights.
