An artist that at the time went by the name Rebornica created a FNaF comic that became quite popular, it had the first "named" Purple guy. Vincent Bishop, and since at the time PG was unnamed people used that. Even after William Afton became canon, some couldn't let go of the Vincent Bishop name.

Either way, they were a highly regarded artist but at the same time, they were a very toxic person that was not only toxic to the fandom but just all-around a nasty person.

May 23, 2023 · William/purple guy doesn't even look like that! I don't know where the whole 'william UwU anime cute boy' idea even came from but it always annoys me when I see cosplayers portray him as a cute, sexy purple anime boy.

People kept sexualizing their purple guy, kept harassing them for their AU being different from the canon 'verse, harassed them because they didn't like how widespread Vincent was, harassed them for bad things they did when they were a 12-year old, et cetera.

The Artist responsible for the most widely used PG design, Vincent Bishop. They had a falling out, did some toxic things, threaten to sue people, etc. Seems they're coming back. Edit Also forgot to mention their Phone Guy design was fairly popular too "IE literally a guy with a phone for a head."
