I am not sure what the two ratings are - the slower might be non-spinnaker. We have a windward-leeward rating, and a distance rating (that includes reaching leg, and associated sails).

Nov 26, 2007 · We had engine problems and were delayed but we made the crossing in 8 days and would have been finished in 6-7 without the problems. Oil wells are not much of a problem past approximately 100 miles out from South Texas. Some cruisers do take the option of going to Florida and crossing from Key West.

Oct 13, 2009 · I bought a 22, complete with all rigging, cushions, just everything including a trailer. I had this gunkholer from September 1981 until around 2000. I sailed this girl all over the Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida coasts. Many lakes in these areas also. I experience heavy storms and seas in Mississippi sound, she did just fine.

What has made South Florida desireable, the abmviance, the laid back attitude and the many many many beautiful boats docked along the roads and byways.
