Our History - Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Ol Pejeta now holds the largest single population of eastern black rhino in Kenya, and is working with partners to save the northern white rhinos from extinction. We have developed expertise in wildlife and habitat management and security, conservation technology, and scaled our investment in community development.

WILDLIFE AND HABITATS - Ol Pejeta Conservancy
There are five main types of habitat on Ol Pejeta, and this diversity contributes to the wide variety of wildlife found here. Grasslands cover approximately 24% of Ol Pejeta, dominated by Themeda triandra, Penisetum stramineum and Penisetum mezianum; Open bush land covers approximately 25% of Ol Pejeta, dominated by Acaciadrepanolobium
CHIMPANZEES - Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Ol Pejeta has been advocating for the plight of chimpanzees and other great apes since 1993 – when we first opened the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. The Sanctuary aims to provide a refuge for chimpanzees rescued from the black market, and is the only place in Kenya where these fascinating animals can be seen.

Apr 14, 2015 · Ol Pejeta House has a rich and colourful history dating back to the 50s. It has seen Ol Pejeta Conservancy take on many roles – from colonial cattle farm to the largest black rhino sanctuary in east Africa, and a centre for conservation innovation.
RHINOS - Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Ol Pejeta is home to the last two remaining northern white rhinos, and a sanctuary for over 165 critically Endangered black rhinos. The Conservancy employs highly trained rhino protection squads, partners with international veterinary experts and ensures data is gathered regularly on each individual animal.
