May 18, 2014 · Ours is much simpler and homemade - A little giant ladder set up over the condensing unit and an electric come-along tied on to winch the compressor up out. You have to kind of lean it out and brace yourself against the ladder to lower the compressor to the ground, but its great for those 5ft plus high seer units, or Climatuff compressors.

Oct 13, 2007 · The Ladder crane if you are using it for bringing up your recovery unit, vacumn pump, B-tank, tool boxes thats one thing your still making many trips up and down the ladder to hookup each item unless you have a helper with you. However you can't be serious, using this thing to hoist up a "5" ton semi hermetic !!!!! or even a "5" ton Hermetic !!!!!

Dec 18, 2005 · I was intrigued by the idea of the ladder crane thing a short time ago after it came up here on another thread. The Lau version that's in Johnstone's catalog in the previous post is the one I was looking at. Being curious, I rigged one up out of some unistrut, some scrap pieces and a come-along all clamped to my 24 ft extension ladder.

Jan 17, 2017 · The ladder hoist is a low capacity (50 pounds or so) hoist for material that would be unsafe to carry up the ladder. It is intended to be clamped to a stabilized extension ladder, not.....this. These idiots put themselves, the public, and the property at risk. This is right up there with "Let's push it up the ladder!". No, let's not.

May 27, 2014 · does any one know who sells a light portable and not too expensive electric hoist made for hvac techs for lifting compressors or refer condensing units up to the roof top with one tech. ive heard ladder cranes mentioned but i cant find them on any website, and ive also heard of some techs making their own, has any one made one, and can you show us some pictures.

May 29, 2014 · So we have used the crane 3 times in the last 2 weeks. When we did the scroll, the crane was back at the shop, and I questioned whether it would mount to this weird ladder made out of round pipe. So I volunteered to carry the compressor up an extension ladder on my shoulder, but the lead tech made me go back to the shop and get it.

Mar 5, 2023 · Young millennial jokes or not, lifting 70#+ compressors to the roof with a rope is old. Where I used to work we had a small ladder crane, basically a winch and cable. What does everyone else like to do? It’s only going to take 1 time to be permanently hurt or be worn out by the time retirement comes around. Thoughts?
