The extended-range 777-300ER, with a MTOW of 700,000–775,000 lb (318–352 t), entered service in 2004, the longer-range 777-200LR in 2006, and the 777F freighter in 2009. These second-generation 777 variants have extended raked wingtips and are powered exclusively by 110,000–115,300 lbf (489–513 kN) GE90 engines.

This Boeing 777-300ER is one of the newer additions to American Airlines' fleet. This four-class aircraft seats a total of 304 passengers, and features up-to-date amenities, including personal Audio Video On Demand (AVOD) and personal 110v power ports throughout each class.

The 777-300ER is the most successful variant of Boeing's Triple Seven family of aircraft. Over 800 have been built by 2024, representing almost half of all 777 built so far. The 777-300ER combines the stretched fuselage of the 777-300 with specially developed GE90 engines from General Electric.
