A guide to Ohlins forks / front suspension for the RC51
Feb 21, 2014 · This kit replaces all of the internals on the OEM RC51 Showa forks. Amongst other internal changes (the kit is a full cartridge change), it uses 30mm Ohlins valving in place of the original 20mm Showa valves. Compression damping is found on the left fork leg while the right leg controls rebound damping.

Jun 26, 2009 · 1. With the ignition key off, connect a jumper across the green service connector. 2. Turn the ignition key on (as you would to view fault codes). 3. Remove the service connector jumper. 4. The FI indicator will light solid for 5 seconds. During this 5 seconds, reconnect the service connector jumper.
Best tires for the RC51
Aug 4, 2008 · Because the tire is slightly taller than a 190/50 tire, it raises the rear slightly. This benefits the RC51 as it quickens the steering response. Having tried both, I can say the 190/55 really does make the bike more responsive and much more wiling to flick into turns. It might even seem strange until you adjust to it.

Mar 5, 2010 · rc51 Red Rider. After seeing research and graphic cutaways of various filters, I have gone with Bosch Super Premiums for both my VFR and RC51 in combination with Amsoil 10w-40. The oil was chosen based on lab test in Motorcycle Consumer News on various types of oils for cars and motorcycles.
cooling/fan switch - RC51 Forums
Jul 14, 2009 · Honda went from one fan attached to one radiator on the SP1, to a fan for each radiator on the SP2 for additional cooling. As for myself, the previous owner had a puncture in the left radiator tank and rigged it using JB Weld, which didn't hold, much to my displeasure. Also, one fan was developing squeaky bearings, so it made my list also.

Fuel Pressure Regulator? - RC51 Forums
Mar 26, 2013 · 2 posts · Joined 2013. #7 · May 1, 2013. both my rc51. both of mine had bad fuel pressure regulators. ran like crap at high speed, dies at idle. you can pull off the vacuum line and plug it put a line on th fpr and block that for a quick temp fix until you get a replacement. did that to mine and worked fine until i replaced it.

Feb 11, 2014 · Aftermarket rear suspension - Consider buying new. When buying an aftermarket rear shock for the RC51, I suggest to strongly consider buying new. The RC51 is fairly unique because we can buy a new triple adjustable top of the line HO204 Ohlins rear shock from Mike or Dan at Kyle USA for only around $950 plus shipping.
