Post fix anchors are typically present when a modification is installed into a structure. This could be due to a late change or as part of a refurbishment. These anchors have been used to attach structural elements to concrete and masonry for many years and recently the technology behind them has become increasingly complex.

Post-installed anchors are anchor bolts that are installed after the concrete base has been set. A hole is drilled into the concrete and the anchor is then installed into the hole. There are two main types of post-installed anchors: mechanical expansion anchors (MEA) and adhesive anchors.

Post-fixed anchors have been used in one form or another for over 100 years. They are typically needed in refurbishments, or in new-build projects where cast-in fixings are not practical or a late change has occurred.
