  1. The ELM is one such process theory that identifies factors influencing individuals’ decision-making stages (Petty et al., 1986). ELM theory focuses on the elaboration of continuousness in people’s consumption decisions. According to ELM, individuals engage in consumption behaviours through either central or peripheral routes (Petty et al., 2005).
